Cardrona Valley Lodge is located in the heart of the magnificent Cardrona Valley, the high road route between Queenstown and Wanaka. Weaving majestically through the Crown Range, this incredible, scenic road peaks at 1121 metres, and is the highest main road in the country. With views overlooking the entire Wakatipu basin from Arrowtown to Queenstown to distant Glenorchy, it's also one of the most beautiful.

The historic village of Cardrona is home to the iconic Cardrona Hotel, a popular photographic   spot and a great place for a pint! The beer garden is one of the best in New Zealand, the food is hearty, local, and delicious, and the pub itself is a veritable storybook of old gold miners tales and high country farm antics.

A year round destination, Cardrona Valley has an abundance of fantastic trails for hiking and mountain biking in the warmer months. Some of these include the historic Meg Hut trail that winds deep into the mountains and down into the Kawarau River Valley on the other side. Take a horse trek and discover abandoned gold mines and miners huts, and explore real working high country stations from horseback.

​The world-class Cardrona Alpine Resort ski field and Nordic Ski Area at Snow Farm, change from hiking and biking to ski and snowboard trails in winter. Cardrona is renowned for its consistent snowfalls through the winter, and the ski field draws everyone from beginners to the elite Olympic teams from New Zealand and Australia every season.
